A CG 125 - A mais de 25 anos fazendo sucesso

Quem não conhece a CG 125, deve estar morando nos ultimos 25 anos nas montanhas do Tibet.

Trata-se da moto mais vendida já existente no Brasil. E não é por menos;

Peças baratas e de fácil acesso. Claro que a venda estrondosa e por ultilizar algumas peças sem alterações ajudaram também. Isto também fez a pequena guerreira ser muito visada por ladrões.

Hoje ela é ultilizada para vários fins. Tem coisas que só ela consegue com maestria. Não é dificil ver uma rodando com mais de 100.000 km, sem nunca ter o motor aberto.

Em 2004 a HONDA cometeu um dos maiores erros, ao tirar ela de linha. Tinha um motor ultrapassado sim, mas era um motor valente. Sua sucessora, a CG 150, conseguiu manter a liderança nas vendas, mas o futuro do seu motor é incerto. Mais potente e econômico...mas será que aguenta o dia-dia sem "abrir o bico" rapidamente ?

A primeira CG 125 saiu em 1976

*Curiosidade - Todas as marchas eram para baixo

Mesmo com a YAMAHA lançando a RX 125 2 tempos em 1978, a CG assumiu a liderança em vendas e de lá não saiu mais. Tudo isso porque ela era muito econômica e durável...isto agradou a maioria. Sem contar que naquela época, o pais passava por uma crise no petróleo.

Em 1977, a Honda instalou em Manaus sua fábrica e já dominava 79% do mercado brasileiro.

Com mais uma crise no petróleo em 1979, o álcool passou a ser prioridade nos veículos e isso afetou também as motos.

Curiosidade* A primeira moto do mundo a rodar com alcóol foi a nossa CGzinha...foto acima.

TEMPOS DE MUDANÇA

Em 1983, a CG recebia sua primeira mudança; linhas mais retas, mas o farol ainda era no formato circular. Na foto abaixo, vemos o modelo 1986, já com o farol quadrado

COMEÇANDO O TRABALHO PESADO

Ainda em 1988, surgia uma nova CG no mercado...a CG CARGO.

Voltada para o trabalho ela tinha banco apenas para o motorista, quadro e roda traseira reforçados, suspensão posterior com regulagem e balança 80 mm mais longa, que aumentava a distância entre eixos de 1,27 para 1,35 metro.

MAIS UMA MUDANÇA

Em 1989, a lider evoluia mais uma vez. Surgia a CG 125 TODAY, com design mais atual para sua época, mas o valente motor ainda prevalecia.

Mas isso mudou em 1992. A Honda resolveu mexer no motor e o modelo 1992 da Today trazia um motor revisto, com pistão de perfil mais baixo, biela mais longa (para melhor relação) e válvulas maiores, entre outras alterações. A mais esperada novidade era a ignição eletrônica por descarga capacitiva, CDI, em substituição aos velhos platinado e condensador, que então se extinguiam das motos nacionais. Com isso, a manutenção estava mais simples e não havia mais perda de rendimento por causa do desgaste desses componentes.

Em função das mudanças, a potência subia de 11 para 12,5 cv e o torque de 0,94 para 1,0 m.kgf, aos mesmos regimes, enquanto o nível de ruído e vibração se reduzia. A nova CG, que também ganhava pneu dianteiro mais macio, manoplas de borracha e pedaleiras perfuradas, para maior conforto de rodagem, passava a atingir 115 km/h de máxima e a acelerar de 0 a 100 em 17 s, desempenho adequado a sua proposta.

De alma renovada, faltava uma plástica para deixar o corpo em nova forma, depois de uma década sem alterações profundas. Pois ela vinha em 1994.

Simplesmente, TITAN

Em 1994, surgia o mito CG Titan 125, sucessora da Today, que trazia de volta as linhas arredondadas no tanque (agora maior, 13 litros), laterais e rabeta, mas não ainda no farol. Vista em detalhe, exibia painel de fundo branco, alças laterais para apoio do passageiro e embreagem mais leve. Um escapamento mais silencioso vinha no ano seguinte

A CG estava mais jovem e atraente, aos quase 20 anos, mas não havia atendido a antigas reivindicações de seus fiéis compradores, como freio dianteiro a disco e conta-giros

A última das imortais

Mais uma mudança na guerreira. Finalmente ela recebia freio a disco e partida elétrica. Mas sua versão mais popular com partida a pedal e freio dianteiro a tambor ainda dominava a maior fatia do mercado, devido é claro ao baixo preço.

Simplesmente linda !

Isto é o que muitos consumidores disseram da CG 125 Titan que surgiu no fim de 1999.

Conhecida como Titan 2000, a nova CG recebia farol mais potente de lente lisa e arredondado, como na primeira CG.

Recebeu também um marcador de combustivel, mas ainda faltava o conta giros. Este só surgiu agora em 2004 com a nova CG 150 Sport

ATUALMENTE...

Hoje, para a tristeza de muitos, a CG 125 deixou de ser fabricada, mas o nome CG ainda comanda o mercado de motocicletas com a CG 150 Titan.

Chassis Features
* A lightweight and rigid twin-spar aluminum frame minimizes weight while maintaining high torsional strength.
* The Hayabusa has been outfitted with a fully adjustable inverted front fork featuring DLC (Diamond-Like Coating) coated inner tubes. The front suspension offers minimal friction resistance and provides outstanding suspension performance over a variety of riding conditions.
* A bridged aluminum alloy swingarm features a cross-sectional shape for increased rigidity, which also helps cope with improved rear tire grip and increased engine output. The Hayabusa’s fully adjustable rear shock absorber has a 43mm piston and 14mm rod diameter.
* Radial-mount front brake calipers offer maximum braking performance and allows for smaller 310mm front brake rotors resulting in reduced unsprung weight and improved handling. A lightweight single piston rear brake caliper works in conjunction with a 260mm rear brake disc.
* 3-spoke cast-aluminum-alloy wheels are shod with 120/70ZR17M/C (58W) front and 190/50ZR17M/C (73W) rear radial tires.
* Vertically stacked twin headlights provide increased light intensity, improved light distribution and match the elegant flow of the Hayabusa styling.
* The Hayabusa’s instrument cluster features four analog meters for speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge and water temperature with a S-DMS mode indicator, gear position indicator and adjustable engine-rpm indicator.
* Advanced aerodynamics offering superb wind protection both for normal and completely tucked-in seating positions.
* The Hayabusa comes with a bright, durable LED taillight, with clear inner lens and red outer lens.

Engine Features
* The Hayabusa is equipped with a 1340cc, in-line, DOHC liquid-cooled engine with 16-valves, and Twin Swirl Combustion Chambers (TSCC).
* Lightweight aluminum alloy pistons with a compression ratio of 12.5:1 are used for maximum performance in all conditions. Hard, smooth chrome-nitride Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) coating on the upper compression and oil control rings on each piston reduces friction while improving cylinder sealing.
* Suzuki Composite Electrochemical Material (SCEM) cylinder plating improves heat transfer, durability and ring seal.
* Lightweight titanium valves allow the use of light valve springs and high lift while maintaining accurate valve control. Iridium spark plugs are used for high combustion efficiency.
* The Hayabusa’s engine is fed via Suzuki’s SDTV (Suzuki Dual Throttle Valve) fuel injection system with dual 12-hole, fine-spray injectors per cylinder and ram air intake with large volume airbox.
* Suzuki Pulsed-secondary AIR-injection (PAIR) system ignites unburned hydrocarbons and reduces carbon monoxide emissions.
* S-DMS (Suzuki Drive Mode Selector) allows the rider to choose from three different engine settings depending on riding conditions or rider preferences.
* The Hayabusa comes with a large volume 4-2-1-2 exhaust system with a large capacity catalyzer, dual triangular canisters and closed loop system.
* A high efficiency curved radiator features dual electric fans controlled by the ECM for increased cooling capacity. The oil cooler has 10 rows cores for increased heat dissipation.
